Fauci says 400 daily U.S. deaths is definitely not a "satisfying number" despite President Biden's declaration that the pandemic is "over"

  •  Days after President Biden said the "pandemic is over," his central clinical consultant is adding to the setting.
  • "400 passages every day is definitely not a satisfactory number," Fauci told The Atlantic.
  • He said this moment is not an opportunity to call the game and go get a wiener.

President Biden declared "the pandemic is over" on television Sunday night, a comment that quickly sparked a series of dubious headlines.

Yet his top clinical consultant, Dr. Anthony Fauci needs you to know that a little "seven-second sound clip" doesn't exactly mean there's no work to be done in the fight against the coronavirus.

"400 passes every day is definitely not an adequate number, all things considered, we need to get it much lower," Fauci told The Atlantic's Ross Andersen on Wednesday.

Fauci weighed in on what he called the "issue of the day," regardless of whether the pandemic is truly over, and understood how "provided you look at his entire statement, it doesn't contradict what I said ".

Fauci, who faced heavy criticism for offering something nearly identical in the spring, said "it really becomes semantics and how you want to change it."

"The next sentence he went on to say we really have a lot of work to do, based on the fact that we're not really done with the coronavirus," Fauci said of Biden's comments.

This is not an ideal opportunity to call a play and get a wiener, Fauci said

A pandemic declaration is currently a "mutual agreement," Fauci added.

It is on the right track to admit that things are generally better than they were half a year ago or a year ago, but life is not what it used to be, there is still an excess of experiences that can be avoided due to infection.
